Relaxation. Something we all need and can just “never find the time” for (here I quote a number of my anonymous friends, clients and… myself 😉 ).
It’s pretty simple really, we all need to hit the sympathetic nervous system reset button once in a while. There are many ways to accomplish this, maybe you’re good with reading a novel, or maybe you need to take a walk in nature, show up for a yoga class and meditate, commit to a Scandinave spa day, or schedule a massage.
OK, those all sound amazing, but they also require some amount of planning ahead or taking a good chunk of time out of your day. What about the moments when the stressors in your life have hit the roof and you just need a little something to bring your feet back down to the ground?
I always find the best place to start is your breath.
It can be as simple as just taking some deep, slow breaths, but if you’re not familiar with intentional breathing you can follow these guided breathing exercises.
